11th Feb Adlington EC Showing

Hmmm eventful day today! Took us 20mins to load Dolsey who was being verrry naughty - I think she was having a very 'mareish' day. When we got into the Ridden Coloured class she was very very hyper, but she did flick her toes nicely!

After the go-round we were pulled in any order, so I decided to go 2nd. She was going great until after my first extended trot, and broke into canter and wiggled her head about a bit until she decided she would trot again. Then when I asked her to gallop, she shot off like a bullet out of a gun and bucked!! And also did a nice flying change (which she tells me she can't do when I ask her to) so she was a naughty pony. We were placed 5th. the judge said he couldn't place her any higher because she was naughty. A nice man came up to us ater the class and complemented us on Dolsey, and said that it was a shame about the naughtiness because she was going so well.

Next class was the Riding Club Show Horse which I decided to do after all because of the buck! What a hectic class. 8 in it, and dear Lord I have never seen any of the events that happened in any ridden showing class before. One pony would not do the jump, it refused point blank, so the judge had to lead it over. Then, it's bridle FELL OFF!! So the judge had to put it back on while the pony was headbutting him. Soo funny. We all had to get off and on, Dolsey was foot perfect, but one horse's rider got off, then tried to lead it forwards but the pony was having none of it, and stood there while the girl was tugging at it's head...I was trying so hard not to laugh out loud. There was also one girl who got off her pony but couldn't get back on again!! In the end she had to spend about 5mins adjusting her stirrup so her foot could reach. Dolsey won that class so we went home with a red rosette and a really nice pink one, and she was better behaved!!
