JMB Measuring

We took Dolsey for her JMB height certificate yesterday. As you may know Dolsey can be a bit of a pain to load - OK, a huge pain. Last time it took us 20mins to get her into the box, trying everything from lunge lines to pleading with her, then finally she went in with a trail of pony nuts on the floor. Silly pony was too busy stuffing them all in her mouth to notice where the trail was leading I think!
Anyway yesterday we were in a bit of a rush to get her to Somerford Park on time (where she was getting measured) so we didn't feed her in the morning, and decided to let her eat breakfast on the way there. I though something must be up when she started pulling and jogging on the end of the lead rope towards the trailer. Then, to my huge surprise she dragged me up the ramp and was in!
Mum was quick to shut the partition and doors so Dolsey was well and truly in - we were in so much shock that every so often on the journey one of us would say: 'I can't believe she just walked in!'
When we got there we were greeted by an eccentric vet who was going to do the measuring. After we persuaded Dolsey that the vet room really didn't have Dolsey eating monsters in it, she went in doing her very best Arab impressions - not really that good when you're a hairy coloured cob! She found it very scary and made silly blowing noises all the way up to the measuring pad, where eventually she stood still and wasn't entirely sure about the vet or what he was doing with a big scary stick on her withers!
After a few nail-biting minutes the vet announced 'Only just!' and that she was 148cm...phew!
